High School Seniors
February “Start-of-Month” Checklist

  1. If you submitted your FAFSA form early,
    you should receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) indicating your eligibility for financial aid. Make any corrections to the report and return it to the FAFSA processor. Need to check your SAR status: FAFSA web site
  2. If you haven’t submitted your FAFSA,
    you need to do so quickly to meet important college financial aid deadlines
  3. Make sure your High School
    sends all necessary transcripts and grades to your colleges of choice. Check with your guidance counselor for assistance.
  4. Check to see if all of your application materials have been sent.
    Contact the admissions office of the college(s) to which you have applied to make sure they have everything.

    • admission application
    • essays
    • letters or recommendations
    • high school transcripts
    • other: check with your college
  5. If you are taking any college entrance exams,
    check your dates.  You need to get yourself ready for the exams.  They play an important part is admittance review.
  6. Continue searching for scholarships.
    Every bit helps.  This is a good time to re-estimate your college costs.
  7. Men 18 years or older
    must be registered for Selective Service to receive federal financial aid. You can register online: www.sss.gov  
  8. Have you started your going-to-college search?
    It’s a little too late to meet the Fall semester deadline. You might consider getting ready for the Winter Semester.
