Finding Additional Financial Aid
Most federal student loans, grants and scholarships are applied directly to the student’s account to pay tuition, housing, and other college-related costs. Any excess funds may be transferred electronically to the student’s account or sent to you by a paper check.
You need to contact your schools financial aid office to review procedures used to transfer funds to the student’s account.
But in most cases, the amount of federal student loans, grants and scholarships do not pay the entire cost of education (which includes tuition, housing, supplies, a laptop, transportation to and from school, and other education-related expenses). It is up to the student to fund the remaining amount prior to school starting.
