Education should be measured by what you learn, not by what you spend. Students should search for college like Andrew Jackson University that are committed to:

1.) Providing education of the highest quality that relies on individualized instruction from faculty

2.) Providing access to staff, faculty and curriculum - anytime, anywhere

3.) Providing complete portability in education - including using webcams to examination proctoring - no more driving to a test center

4.) All this at one of the most affordable rates for a 6 year school - undergraduates can study for as little as $40 a credit hour - graduate students for as little as $55 per credit hour.

5.) Andrew Jackson University is accredited and is a non-participating Title IV school - which means students are eligible to defer existing loans and can take advantage of federal tax credits

Another excellent option is to start your own small business. If you structure it as a family business there may be tax advantages in addition to the money you earn. There are many small businesses that are basically ready to go with very little money required to start. And, you will get a working financial education in the real world. Check out the free report at http://www.bigmoneyforcollege.com/report.html

Perhaps one of the saddest conversations I have as a teacher is when a student believes they have to settle for some local school because of financial concerns. What many students (and parents) don't realize is that many schools offer a full range of assistance, even full rides, based on academic performance or intended area of study. Once web site, (I am a blogger for this site) http://www.morethangrades.com offers a way for students to find this money, and they offer assistance in finding other ways to finance an education. The bottom line: Don't give up
