How to Pass Your Driving Test Quicker

How to Pass Your Driving Test Quicker
  • Opening Intro -

When you turn of age and are able to drive, most people want to be out on the roads as soon as they possibly can.

-------------------------------------

Obviously, it is really important that you spend time developing your driving skills, but if you are looking to pass you test quickly then there are a few ways to ensure the process is sped up.

Apply for your learner’s permit/provisional license early

To avoid waiting for all of the paperwork to go through, send off for the necessary documents before your birthday. They can send your permit through to start from your birthday, meaning you can start learning straight away. Remember, you can’t drive a car without your permit.

Get a really good instructor

A good instructor can be the difference between you taking a month to pass, to taking a year. Ask your friends and relatives if they can recommend someone who has been able to help them pass quickly. If they can offer you a bulk set of lessons that will help you to learn quicker, even better. The more time you spend behind the wheel, the quicker it will be to taking your test. You can get help and advice on finding good instructors through the government website.

Practice

In between lessons it is important to keep practicing your skills, so if one of your parents is happy to take you out in the car to practice on a regular basis, this will speed up the process. If your parents aren’t keen on the idea, inform them how much money it could save if you pass your test sooner and require fewer lessons! Another way to persuade them is to remind them that they will never have to pick you up or drop you off anywhere ever again. If you really want to go all out with your persuasion methods, offer to do the grocery shopping once you have passed your test!

Prepare well for your theory

Preparing for your driving theory test is really important. If you want to avoid having to re-take your test and adding even more time onto the overall length of time to pass, invest time into revision. There are lots of free online tests that you can take to get you fully prepared for all of the questions that you will face in your theory exam.

Calm your nerves

When it comes to the day of the driving test, a lot of people can end up failing because they have been too nervous. Your instructor should prepare you for the situation by doing a mock test that mirrors the real test scenario. If you really struggle with nerves then you could look into some coping mechanisms. Sometimes performing some breathing exercises before the event will help. Some people would even recommend using herbal remedies that have the ability to reduce your anxiety levels. You could trial this approach beforehand to see if you can feel any improvement.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, it is not the end of the world if you don’t pass first time. Just remember to breathe, take it easy, and do everything your instructor taught you.
