Limited grant programs to help defer the cost of college. Student must show exceptional financial need for many federal-related grants.

Federal Work-Study Program offers work-study programs for both undergraduate and graduate students where the student can work part-time to earn money to help pay for college.

Federal-merit scholarship program that will pay for college and provide a monthly allowance. Student will be obligated to perform a tenure of service following graduation.

Military academies pay for college and provide a monthly allowance. Appointees to the academy are nominated by a member of Congress.
