July has begun. You only have a few weeks before the fall semester begins. So review this checklist on what’s need to start school.

Confirm housing and dining options at your school

Plan to attend any orientation programs that will be sponsored

Find a summer job to help pay your way

Have you found transportation while attending school

You will be starting your own home when you go away to school. Think about what you might need for the:

  • bedroom
  • kitchen
  • study area
  • parking lot
  • closet
  • etc.

Keep tabs on upcoming registration deadlines and fees.

Make sure your high school transcripts have been sent to your college.

Do you have a computer for your school studies?

Finding Additional Financial Aid

Most federal student loans, grants and scholarships are applied directly to the student’s account to pay tuition, housing, and other college-related costs. Any excess funds may be transferred electronically to the student’s account or sent to you by a paper check.

You need to contact your schools financial aid office to review procedures used to transfer funds to the student’s account.

Work-related programs will be paid on an hourly basis.
