Are you feeling nervous (or afraid that you might drop your grades) for an upcoming exam? Don’t worry, because it doesn’t have to be that way! There are many ways that you can pass the exam without being overwhelmed.

In college, the professor isn’t like in high school anymore, in that they will remind you to do your homework (or study before the exam). In many ways, you’ll have to find ways to adapt your study techniques.

So, here are the tips and tricks that may help you with your upcoming exams by forming effective study group in college:

Maintain Concentration

Sometimes you can’t avoid being distracted by things while you’re focused on studying. To maintain your concentration, you have to get your tasks out of the way. These include: doing your laundry, groceries, or even organizing your pieces of stuff and clutter-free desk.

Now that you’re already done doing those personal tasks, it’s time to find a quiet location where no one can distract you from your studies. However, it would be best if you don’t overdo it.

An excellent technique to study is to set a timer for 1 hour to 30 minutes, then focus on it while the timer is on. After that, you can give yourself a 10 to 15-minute break, then keep the time going.

Review Before and After Class

Before you enter the class, it’s better to review all those notes given to you by your professor, so that you wouldn’t be surprised when your professor is giving a tough exam.

Before you go to sleep at night, study a bit to keep up with the lectures each day. Make this your habit to focus on your studies. That way, when the exam comes, you’ll be much calmer than the others.

Form a Study Group

Studying in groups with other people is one of the most effective ways to motivate you to review. With other peers, they will help you correct your mistakes or help you understand the information that you may have missed during the lecture.

However, before forming active study groups, make sure that you only have 3 to 5 members who are willing to achieve excellent grades to avoid loss of focus.

Give Yourself a Break

Now it’s time to relax and do other fun activities that you may like while its weekend. Go to your favorite Spa or in a mall (with good friends) that can help you refresh from the stress. Alternatively, do meditation and exercise if you want to be alone.

In conclusion, college isn’t just about having good grades; it’s also about creating the right balance for your life for achieving good grades.
