How to find the perfect breed of dog for a pet
continues to part 2
When it comes to the perfect dog breed based on personal preferences, you may already have something in mind. Either based on the dogs age or looks, you may already think you have discovered the perfect pet for you and possibly for other family members. However, along with care, different dog breeds include different necessities. A good representation of how this can vary across different breeds is that a German Shepherd is obviously going to be more playful than a standard beagle, or other smaller breeds.
The Best Dog Breeds for children
If you have a small child, you may be looking for a non-threatening, and not as stereotypically aggressive dog, which makes perfect sense. However, no matter the dog breed, I feel that it is best to buy a puppy for your child so they can both grow together, and hopefully establish a strong bond.
Despite your child being very young around the time you are planning to purchase or adopt a new dog, it is still possible for you to get an adult dog as well, even if things may be difficult at first. Buying an adult dog of a smaller, and perhaps more trustworthy breed such as a dachshund, or a playful yorkie or teacup yorkie. Teacup dogs are another good choice, because they are the size of puppies, but they are more independent, therefore they need less care, and some breeds located in this size range may still even be playful!
The Best Dog Breeds for senior citizens
On the surface, there can appear to be either no perfect dog breed fit for a senior citizen, or that there are many. One key feature that should be the main focus of their desired breed however, is independence. It’s no secret that all dogs need care, but less playful and more cuddly dogs are more cut-out to fit a senior citizen’s life style. Certain select breeds may need less walking than others, or no walking at all, and just enjoy being cuddly and cozy homebodies.
The Best Dog Breeds for college students
If your campus allows pets, than it’s no doubt that dogs are must have, and are probably already very popular on the campus. Based on your schedule and own personal preferences, there is the perfect dog for you. Unlike with senior citizens, college students may need a dog who loves to play and loves to be walked, especially if the potential owner has many different fitness goals. Or maybe you have a busy schedule with both school and a job, but you would still like a low-energy but happy dog.
In conclusion, everyone has a personal preference for their dog. Whether it be based around your typical life schedule, or simply just looks and energy level of said dog. Either way, there are many different options on receiving a pet, but I feel thorough research of your desired breed should also be something to look at before you finally settle and make a decision.
