Last week, we looked at the history of college bowl games, outlining how what was initially a concept that rewarded the top teams in the nation with a trip to a warmer climate to take in a post-season contest has turned into a mini season unto itself. This year, if you were to try to watch every game, you could do so except that you would need to hook up multiple television sets on Dec. 29, Dec. 31 and on Jan. 1 to handle overlapping games. Then again, if you are a channel surfing ninja, then the following contests can be watched with some creative working of the remote on your part.
Make sure your remote has enough batteries!

Dare we offer up our predictions for this 35-game set? Well, we predict that for avid fans there will be plenty of excitement. We also predict that you will tune in and tune out throughout December as you celebrate Christmas and welcome in the new year. Because we also like to speculate ourselves on who might win including bringing home the big upset, the following is our guess will bring home a trophy this bowl season.
Bowl Predictions
December Games (Before Christmas) — Arizona, Toledo, BYU, UCF, Louisiana-Lafayette, Boise State and Fresno State.
December Games (After Christmas) — Central Michigan, San Jose State, Cincinnati, Baylor, Ohio, Rutgers, Texas Tech, Air Force, Navy, West Virginia, Oregon State, TCU, NC State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State and LSU.
January Games (Except BCS) — Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Stanford, Florida State, Louisville, Oregon, Texas A&M, Mississipi and Kent State.
BCS Championship — Notre Dame 28, Alabama 27. All right, don’t shoot the messenger. I think this will be an excellent contest that will be decided late and could just as easily go Alabama’s way.
