9 Tips for Getting Through the First Year of College: Part 1/2

9 Tips for Getting Through the First Year of College: Part 1/2
  • Opening Intro -

There are many tips for students to make them learn more, better manage their money and deal with social life.

However, the worst part of the whole story of being a student may be the first week as a freshman.

-------------------------------------

So, here are 9 tips which will show you to handle yourself and how to take control of your life through the first year of college.

1. Prepare to be patient

For all your free time in the first week, there will surely be moments when you have to wait to sign up, receive a student card, go to the presentation meetings and more. Either get there earlier or stand in line to talk to different people.

2. Do not spend all the money

Although it is very tempting to spend all your money in the first week, try to be as careful as possible. It does not seem to be difficult if you start this, because you definitely do not want to end up being more stressed if you make a breakthrough and if you have various loans during the first semester.

3. Do not immediately begin to get poor habits

This will certainly happen. You will begin to eat unhealthy food, you will let your plates always gather, you will drink a lot, you will fall asleep and you will not attend classes. But please try to fight a bit so you won’t get bad habits from the first week. Once you’ve got a bad habit, then it’s pretty hard to remove.

4. Be prepared to become a loved one

Most of the couples who are together before college, resisted only in the first semester (and for those who say that their relationship has lasted and are currently married, it can be said that they are in the minority). Both new chances, new people and new experiences will appear for both of you and you will treat them separately in different parts of the country. I will not give you tips in breaking up from the first day of college, but rather try to keep both in touch. It’s hard to recover after a breakup.

5. Try to become as approachable as possible

People who make few friends during college are those who are not always seen and usually stay in their room. So, try to get out! If you eat, eat in the kitchen or in the cafeteria, and if you are in the room, let the door open so that those who go on the land can greet you. So, if you stay in a student home, the first place you want to go is a common place, namely, the kitchen. Everyone will have the same idea, and roommates are usually the first group of friends during the college period.
