Selection Procedure:
The selection philosophy of the university is so designed that the success of the students is promoted by the admission requirements of the university. As such, the academic potential and preparedness of the students is assessed thoroughly.
Most importantly, this assessment of the academic potential is carried out in the unique aspect of every learner. All the achievements of the students including both academic and non-academic are taken into consideration by the university during the process of admission. This is done in order to register all the learners with a wide range of perspectives and characteristics.
Eligibility:
The first and the foremost thing to be noticed about the admission process of the OSU is that the students are required to receive at least C or above grades in each of the subjects. The major demand of the university is that the students must have learned:
- mathematics for 3 years
- English for 4 years
- social studies for 3 years
- science for 3 years
- any of the foreign languages for at least 2 years.
Then, only students who have passed all of these subjects with at least a C grade can attempt entry.
Depends on Subject:
Getting a bit deeper into the above-mentioned subjects, there is a need for culminating at algebra 2nd or a higher level in mathematics by the students.
Moving towards science subject, there are usually many of the subjects that are considered as the parts of science such as: physics, chemistry, biology, zoology, botany and all. The students are required to complete at least 2 years in any of the above subjects.
Only then the students may be eligible for applying in either of the colleges of OSU.
Foreign Language Requirements
Further approaching to the foreign language, the students are required to achieve at least C grade or a better grade in at least of two consecutive semesters.
However, there are some of the other optional requirements regarding the foreign language. For example; the students are required to practically demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Apart from this, the students seeking admission in the OSU may also have achieved a C grade or a better grade in the third year of their high school in the foreign language. In case, either of the above-mentioned requirements regarding foreign language is met, the students can have the opportunity to seek for an admission in any of the colleges of the Oregon State University.
The most important thing about seeking for admission in OSU is that all the test scores of the students are taken into account by the university.
