Many students would agree with me that when it comes to serious studies - the classrooms or dormitories are not only a bad idea but also can be a distraction.

-------------------------------------

Think about all those things that are capable of diverting your attention. The TVs, video games, cell phones, computers, your storyteller roommate, friends to mention but a few. We have listed here a few ideas of good study places for you.

1. The Library

The purpose for having a library in most colleges is always one: to offer students facilities and a cool and calm environment of study. So this is definitely the best spot to think of.

Many libraries have the resources that adds on to them being the optimum spots for studying. This quiet setup will save you from all the distractions you are prone to face in the dorms or classrooms.

Just have the right mindset with you as you enter this room. Have all the resources you need, take a position you prefer and concentrate before the due date catches up with you.

For those schools that don’t have libraries, you can choose to register as a member at your nearby local library and just study from there.

In case you want to tackle group work, the main library will not be the best place. If you have a business library in your school, you and your study group are sorted.

2. Out of Campus Housing

Whether the house belongs to friends, family or your own home, off-campus houses makes a good study spot.

The thing you need to do is concentrate on your studies. If it is a friends house, do not get distracted by the items in the house or the hangings on the wall. In fact, set yourself up in a room that offers you enough space and comfort you need during studies.

If it’s your house, keep distraction at the minimum. Keep food and drinks around so that you don’t get to leave your study table until it’s time.

3. Cafes or Coffee Shops

These places can be great spots for study. It is even an added advantage if you happen to be a caffeine addict or if you like to keep biting as you study. Select a coffee shop that is normally less crowded with minimum distraction.

Some schools have cafes in their libraries with seats available. You can also look for an off-campus one so long as there is space and you don’t get distracted along the way.

Studying at the park will not only give you some rays but also fresh air. You get to study well while you enjoy the outdoor benefits. You can use the school’s park if there is an accessible one or can choose to study at your local park.
