Here are some steps to take when planning a graduation party.
Strategize a Date
A lot of graduation parties will be happening right now. If you plan to invite people who have other graduation obligations, try to set a date around those times.
You don’t need to reschedule for every conflicting event, but set your date during a time when things are dying down a bit. That’s the perfect cut-off time. Any sooner might make it harder to find a venue or caterer, and any later won’t make much sense because it’s been so long since graduation.
Select the Invitations
Make the invitations festive and decorative. While you can send Evites, send physical invitations, too. Evites can easily go into the spam box, and some people may never have a chance to see them.
Physical invitations are also better because they’ll remind your guests of the party. With graduation invites, you should use specialty envelope liners. It will keep the invites protected and intact until they reach their destination and keep the sophisticated theme going.
Bring Back Some Fan Favorites
On that guest list, make sure you include some fan favorites. Think about who had a major influence on your graduate’s life and bring them to the party. If you can, find one special guest that your graduate hasn’t seen in a long time.
Keep this person a surprise to make the reveal even more special. It could be an old coach, teacher, or even a childhood friend. Reach out to them and make sure they know how much your graduate would adore their presence.
Hire a Caterer
Don’t stress yourself out by trying to do all the cooking yourself. Hire a caterer so that you can enjoy the party and entertain your guests. You’ll still need to keep your eye on some things to make sure they run smoothly, but catering makes that job easier.
Ask the caterer to bring to-go boxes with them. You can trust that there will be plenty of leftover food, and you don’t want to try and find a place in your fridge for it all. The same goes for the cake and other dessert options. Have take-out containers for those, too.
Get a DJ
Your graduate wants a DJ—trust us on this. Get a DJ because it’s so much easier than having someone make a playlist. A DJ comes prepared with their own setup equipment.
Let them keep the party going with music and fun. Ask friends, family, and neighbors if they have any referrals for good DJs because it’s easier to trust their judgment than to find one on your own.
It’s time to celebrate the right way. Plan this graduation party to perfection.
