Here are some suggestions on how you can make the most out of your holiday breaks.
1. Get a job
School holiday jobs are a way for you to learn outside the scope of your academic qualifications. Get involved in an unpaid internship or a job for what you might learn rather than earn. This is also a very productive way to engage your mind.
2. Volunteer
Are there any causes out there that are close to your heart? The school breaks are one of those times that you can use to direct your energy to such.
Volunteer at an animal shelter or a nursing home for some few hours of your day. We all can not save the world but participating in something that does, always makes an impact.
3. Adopt a new skill
There are numerous skills that you can get to adopt that will definitely improve the quality of your life. Skills such as self defense, baking, cycling are quite easy to learn and you will have so much fun while at it!
4. Visit family and friends
We all put aside meeting the people that we care about because we never have the time. Holidays, no matter how short, can be used to slot in such reunions. If the geographic locations does not allow for a meeting, sending an email, a text or a call will always go a long way.
5. Learn a new language
The languages that you know shape how you think and consequently your perception of reality. There are fast and convenient ways for you to learn more languages right from home. You can learn a new language online in websites like BBC Languages and Duolingo.
6. Enjoy nature
Step out of the house and just wander away in nature. As you will come to notice, nature walks are not just fun and relaxing but also they double up as therapy for your mind. There is something about the calming sounds of birds chirping, wind blowing on your face, swaying trees that you cannot find anywhere else.

7. Declutter
As you are preparing yourself for the upcoming semester, you can use this time to get rid of the stuff that you do not need anymore. Give away some of those books and files that are gathering dust in your drawers.
You might not have enough time to do each of the suggestions listed on this article but the important thing is that you have as much fun as possible during your holiday breaks. Be sure to create a to-do list and try as much as you can to stick to it. As you stick to your plans, you will realize that the school-break days are more meaningful and productive.
