During the warmer spring months, the walks across the quad are enjoyable. The fall season decorates your campus in a way that’s pleasing to the eye. But when we near closer to the summer, the heat can impact our sweat glands and fashion sense in more ways than one.
This season, avoid looking sweaty and dowdy by using our fashion tips for the warmer weather. Take a look!
Layer up the Right Way
Everyone acts as if layering is insane in the warmer weather. But if you’re about to head into an air-conditioned room that feels as if it’s as cold as Antarctica, then those layers will be your saving grace.
There’s a key to layering in the summer, though. Of course, you know not to wear your thickest sweaters—but then, what do you layer with?
Choose light cardigans over cotton T-shirts or tank tops. If you’ve got a light jean jacket, you can go that route as well.
The key thing here is to make sure that the shift from frigid to hot is easy—you don’t want to struggle to remove your layers. It’ll only make for a sweatier you!
Choose a Jacket That Makes a Statement
If you’re going to layer, make sure you’re choosing pieces that still stand out and showcase your style. Jean jackets are your best friend this season, but there are some statement jackets that’ll help you emphasize your niche.
Whether you go for plain white or paint splattered, there are plenty of jackets that’ll help you keep warm in the ice-cold rooms.
Of course, once you’re back outside, you may even be able to keep the jacket on, depending on the temperature. If that’s the case, then you definitely want a jacket that’ll stand out.
Play With Shoe Choices
Keep your feet looking cute with the right pair of sandals. Whether you want to stick with simple platform sandals or elevate your look with some chunky sneakers, there are plenty of shoe options for the summer, too. Even if you’re not a sandal girl, there are other shoes to experiment with:
- Ankle booties (Obviously not winter specific, but they can look good with shorts and dresses!)
- Combat boots (Think Doc Martens.)
- Keds and Sperry’s
- Strappy sandals
- Mules

The warm weather shouldn’t make you feel as if you lost your fashion sense. Instead, use it as an excuse to try new outfits. By using these stylish fashion tips for the warmer weather, you’ll look your best as you survive the last few weeks of the semester.
