Do You Have to Have the Latest Smartphone?
  • Opening Intro -

Are you still one of those people holding onto their basic handset?

Do you only want to use your phone for making calls and texts?

What we need from a phone depends entirely on us, but there’s no doubt that the functionality smartphones now offer can be tremendously helpful.

From excellent mobile browsing to easy email access, smartphones are becoming our one-stop-devices for staying in touch and on the ball nowadays.

The step up from a non-smartphone to even a second-generation iPhone would be an eye-opening one for people yet to take the plunge. But with many good deals online at the moment, and with apps becoming more advanced and resource-hungry, the latest models undoubtedly offer the best smartphone experiences. There are a number of different options available for all types of budgets. Here are our favourites.

This larger-than-life handset boasts a massive super glossy 4.7” screen and quad core processor, making it one of the most powerful handsets in the market. The HTC One X is definitely a pocketful but offers great features for streaming and web browsing. The sound quality on this handset is probably the best we have heard on a mobile device, with Beats Audio providing the surprisingly bass heavy speakers, meaning you can combine your mobile and mp3 player in one device.

Samsung Galaxy S3

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is probably the best phone on the market at the moment. Similar to the HTC One X, the S3 comes with a super powerful quad core processor that can handle any application or task thrown at it. It is extremely quick. The handset profile is extremely thin making you call into question the handsets durability but don’t be fooled, this phone will easily handle a few drops.

Samsung Galaxy S2

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a great affordable alternative to its more powerful brother the Galaxy S3. This phone holds its own when compared to the majority of the smartphones currently on sale. Being an older handset, and with a large number of great-value Samsung galaxy s2 deals online, making this phone your first foray into the world of smartphones is extremely easy.

iPhone 4 and 4S

If you are after a compact high performance handset, one of the latest Apple iPhones will definitely fit the bill. These 3.7” screen smartphones remain the most popular models on the market, despite Samsung’s rapid advances. What these handsets lack in hardware performance, they make up in style and functionality. As well as the cache of the unmistakable Apple design, these phones come into their own through the sheer volume of high-quality applications available to users through the app store. Like the Galaxy S2, the iPhone 4 is not a new phone, but it remains a very competitive handset.

Blackberry Curve 9320

Touch screens were far from perfect when they first landed, and many users still prefer the feel and usability of a keypad. If you’re after a modern smartphone that still somewhat resembles an older handset, the blackberry curve is most likely to fit the bill. With a full QWERTY keyboard, this handset is perfect for texters and emailers.
