    The US is home to some of the world’s largest and most reputable colleges and universities and this has served as a key attraction for both local and international students.

The program seeks to assist needy international students who might not be in a position to cater for their tuition fees and other financial expenditure required for successful completion of their degree programs. The Amherst College Scholarship is unique in that it integrates several aspects of financial aid including student employment, student grants and gift aids.

Columbia College Scholarships

There are several scholarship programs that are awarded based purely on student performance. One such scholarship program is the Columbia College Scholarships. This scholarship program is awarded to the most outstanding international students and it normally covers part of the student’s tuition cost or the entire student’s tuition cost.

Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarship

The Illinois University scholarship program is also another example of a merit based scholarship program that awards excellent performance. The programs are offered to new international students and the criterion for selecting the beneficiaries is the students’ performance in their required entrance exams. The program is issued in form of cash grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 annually.

All in all, many international students face a lot of challenges when it comes to their ability to cater for their education needs while in the country.
