Thinking of starting your own Business after your Exams; Consider these Money saving Tips
  • Opening Intro -

Deciding what you want to be can always be a difficult question to answer especially when your exam results are unknown.

Starting your own business can give you control over your own future –although passing your exams are a must.

-------------------------------------

Go Green

If you have decided to start your own business, why not go green from the start? Whatever kind of space your planning on working in try to keep digitalized copies of documents rather than paper copies. If you do need paper copies use double sided print outs and when you’re done recycle everything you can from paper to ink cartridges. Turn off all appliances to cut down on electricity and costs.

Little Experience

Many students will have finished their exams, would have graduated and will be looking to land their first job. Although they will lack experience they will have the knowledge, they will be looking to get established just like your business. Hiring in experienced employees will mean they won’t expect a high paying salary which will save you and your business money. If you don’t want permanent employees as of yet look to hire freelance workers as and when you need a time consuming task to be completed.

Virtual Presence

Before purchasing office space consider if it’s necessary. If your business is just starting out why not stick to a virtual presence? That way you won’t have to pay for office space nor will you have to deck out that office space with technology and equipment.  If your office needs to have a physical space, leasing an office with another business can immediately cut costs.

DIY Marketing & PR

Starting a business can be expensive but you don’t have to pay for marketing and PR just yet. Learn everything you can about marketing and public relations for your business’ industry. If you’ve researched your business’ industry take advantage of social media and be your own spokesperson for your business – or until you can afford someone else to do it.

Barter

There is no harm in trying to lower costs. In most cases if you ask suppliers for a discount, and are prepared to walk away they will see what they can do in finding the right price for you, one place you could have a look at is cost.co.uk. Always buy stock as and when you need it. It might be tempting to bulk buy but in the long term it may not be as cost effective as you may think. If you buy stock when you need it at least you will be able to manage your inventory better too.

Growth

The expansion of a business can make it become a great success or a huge failure. Try and use your own networks from friends, families and ex-employers. As well as networking with contacts you already know branch out to local businesses. Make sure your business has a social media page that can get an online presence that your customers can support and promote- resulting in free PR for your business.
