What Is the Right Career for People Who Love to Explore the World?
  • Opening Intro -

When choosing a future occupation, a lot of people are driven only by the state of the job market and the earning potential.

What they fail to understand is the fact that your job is more than just a moneymaking method.

-------------------------------------

It’s something that defines your lifestyle, something that determines how you will spend almost half your waking hours for several decades in the future. This is why, your dreams, desires, temperament and more have to be taken into consideration.

For instance, if you want to go for a job that will help you see the world, you might want to take some of the following occupations into consideration.

A doctor

Becoming a certified doctor and joining a program such as Doctors Without Borders will allow you to travel the world and help people around the globe. Sure, it’s dangerous at times, seeing as how you will be working in tough conditions and expose yourself to all sorts of medical perils.

However, when it comes to choosing a noble calling, this is at the very top of any list. Even if you don’t want to join the Doctors Without Borders, the majority of countries are welcoming physicians as immigrants.

In other words, a medical school degree can give you so many options to choose from.

Truck driver

Another great idea is for you to become a truck driver. This is a dangerous and demanding job, which gives you the freedom to earn a living while being on the move.

For those who put special emphasis on the freedom that comes from this line of work, there’s also the option of becoming an owner-operator.

This means that you own your own vehicle and merely sell your services to various companies. Either way, the requirements for the job are that you pass heavy vehicle driving training and earn a necessary certificate. From that point on, the list of opportunities goes on and on.

An athlete

Those who like to stay active might want to consider career of a professional athlete. You would be surprised at just how much traveling there is in the life of a professional athlete, even if it’s just on a national level. You’re traveling from city to city, from one competition to another, making friends, rivals and acquaintances along the way.

When it comes to training camps, you’ll spend weeks in exotic locations, however, this is not all sunshine and roses. This occupation is one of the most dangerous in the world. On average, there are about 1,500 injured athletes for every 10,000 out there at every given moment. Also, it is a life of discipline and hard work. Not a lot of people can stomach this.

Travel blogger

For those who want to savor their travels, might want to consider the idea of becoming a travel blogger. As a professional athlete, you’re supposed to abstain from alcohol, different food types and nightlife.

As a travel blogger, this is exactly what you’re supposed to indulge in. However, not everyone can make it as a travel blogger. It requires a special type of personality and even then, it might take a while until this form of lifestyle is profitable enough to become a full-time job. In other words, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Marine biologist

By becoming a marine biologist, you will decide to take up a life of adventures, seeing as how your entire life will consist of traveling to exotic locations and exploring the world’s seas and oceans. Sure, obtaining a degree is not that easy but if you dream about the career that will give you a lot of opportunity for field research (and an excuse to visit tropical areas), you should look no further.

other valuable tips:

A sailor

Previously, we’ve talked about becoming a truck driver, well, how about taking a different approach to this idea and becoming a sailor instead. Pursuing a career at sea can be worth your while for several reasons.

First, it’s an opportunity to travel. Second, it’s a chance to do something useful, something that matters. Third, it is quite lucrative. Due to the nature of this work, the wages are quite hefty, other than this, you have fewer opportunities to spend the money. This helps you accumulate your savings.

In conclusion

The very last thing you need to understand is the fact that having a chance to explore the world may not be a priority for a lot of people. Still, for those who do dream of this, taking an opportunity to get employed in the field that will allow this, might be the right call. Sure, you can always do this on a vacation but why not find work that will actively encourage this, instead of just allowing it.
