Between your late-night study sessions and of course spending time hanging out with your friends, mornings can quickly become your worst enemy. However, if you follow these tips for success, you may find you can establish a morning routine that will shed a whole new light on the next sunrise.
Stop Hitting Snooze
Like more and more people today, you probably use your smartphone as your alarm clock. If so, it is way too easy for you to stay in bed and hit snooze over and over again.
While that five more minutes may seem worth it at the time, it is much better if you simply get up. Once you do, you’ll be able to get focused on your day ahead, enjoy a sunrise, and get more accomplished.
Don’t Skip Breakfast
For decades, breakfast has been touted as the most important meal of the day. Unfortunately, college students tend to ignore this advice and run off to class without eating.
If you do, you wind up sitting in class with a growling stomach, making it hard to concentrate. Instead, make it a point to have a good breakfast each morning.
One of my favorite things to eat in the morning is Kaiser rolls with cream cheese because it’s fast to make and really enjoyable. Plus, you can wrap a paper towel around it and eat it on your way out.
Of course, some people prefer other things like a bowl of cereal, or even some bacon and eggs, you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.
Spend a Few Minutes Meditating
Since you usually have plenty of things that will take up your time during the day, take a few minutes to meditate once you wake up each morning.
Spending 5-10 minutes quietly pondering the day ahead and being thankful for all you have in your life, will help you relax and approach the day with a positive attitude.

Exercise a Little Bit
Along with having a good breakfast to start your day, getting in a little bit of exercise can also be a great part of your morning routine. Whether you decide to jog around campus, take a brisk walk, or stay inside and ride a stationary bike, or use some dumbbells, exercising can get your body and mind feeling great before you head off to your first class.
While it may take a few days for you to get used to your new morning routine, once you do, you’ll wonder why you never took time in the past to eat a good breakfast, exercise, or meditate.
